Governing Documents - the May 1st rollout
The Governing Documents Advisory Committee is pleased to announce that the Proposed 2023 Bylaws are ready for members to review. (Where are the CC&Rs?)
The Committee has devoted hundreds of hours to analyzing and rewriting the Bylaws proposed in 2021 by Berding|Weil, the HOA’s attorneys. (How We Got Here.) Over the past year the Committee has
- removed most items members had objected to
- added back in important aspects of the 2007 Bylaws that members had noted were missing from the 2021 Proposed Bylaws
- added missing members' rights provisions such as members’ reversal of certain Board-adopted rules
- extensively edited the text to improve readability and eliminate as much legal jargon as possible.
The Committee then asked more than a dozen Creekside members with Bylaws experience to comb the text for issues that needed further attention and share their ideas with the Committee. Further changes based on that feedback were then made.
To make sure we get this right, the Committee is now opening up the review process to all members.

For the record
- In any community like ours, it's always helpful to keep in mind our code of conduct to keep our interactions positive and civil.
- At times, Roberts Rules of Order might also be useful, perhaps this single page of basics or this five-page summary.
“How I behave affects your health, how you behave affects my health.
Never have we been so dependent on each other.“
